This module assists students in developing a sound basis for their continued growth and effectiveness as professional dance teachers. Grounded in theories of holistic education, critical pedagogy, and reflective practice, the course integrates studio experiences, observation, theoretical inquiry and teaching practice to examine key values adhering to the noble profession of “dance teacher”. The module is divided into three sections and delivered as a team-teaching, in order to provide pedagogical studies on all three genres of Korean dance educational system, namely ballet, contemporary dance and Korean traditional dance. The formal pedagogies of each genre are delivered by the qualified and well-experienced professional teachers, and they all share a common objective of providing a strong teaching philosophy, which can be used for various levels of instruction, from pre-school to professional. In doing so, the course engages with the diverse academic approaches of dance teaching; for instance, analysis of dance technique, diagnostic teaching, educational psychology, kinesiology, psychology of adolescence, and social foundations of education. The module, thus, offers the students the opportunity to explore their teaching practice within an academic framework, each functioning as a problem solver, an effective researcher and an excellent communicator in various teaching environments.
SKD5065 Seminar in Western Dance History 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Korean Yes
This module aims to provide the study of Western theatre dances in its historical contexts, examining the close relationship between dance, culture, politics, economics and society. In this module, dance is understood as a socio-cultural practice, by placing it in the context of other related art forms, and also in relation to the social context in which it exists. With this underlying principle, the historical explorations of Western dance forms are regarded as a way of understanding the changing artistic trends and aesthetic values, as well as a method of reading political and economical shifts of international society, and its power relations. The module provides a foundational introduction to different methodological and theoretical frameworks, with a particular emphasis on the nature and value of historical inquiry. Moreover, it also insists the actual employment of suggested theories in building individual investigations. The approach to dance history will be topical rather than chronological, and guided by the diversity of student research agendas. In each session, students are encouraged to develop critical engagement with source materials, and to present a sustained logical argument using appropriate evidence and extended communication skills. In general, the module aims to foster scholarly insights and knowledge that are required at the postgraduate level.

The purpose of this course is to understand the history and trend of Korean dance, and to form an art museum and values of individual traditional dance for workshop performance. Therefore, I would like to discuss the various forms and succession styles of Korean dance before the workshop performance.

Contact improvisation is an open form of physical expression through interaction with other people. The study and practice of contact improvisation expands the students creative and analytical bodies and minds. Through collaboration students will investigate individual movement possibilities, relationships and group dynamics, and how these discoveries can extend their understanding of contemporary dance. Moreover, students will attain practical knowledge of composition, history and culture in dance through the practice of contact improvisation.

This lesson focuses on the experience of Bartenieff Fundimentals (BF), a fundamental principle of Irmgard Bartenieff, who has focused on the human body and has developed a training phase of movement according to its developmental stages. It aims to expand body awareness through image training with more scientific body approach. Furthermore, they can improve their body's balanced development and physical self-awareness by recognizing their own physical problems and providing training methods to secure them.

SKD5077 Contemporary Dance Choreographic Workshop 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 Korean Yes
This class is a process of exploring how to create a work based on the technique and the artistic tendency of the school. In particular, you will create a finished work through how you can share ideas with other students who have randomly selected the same class. And the presentation at the performer will be a basic experience to go to the field as a new artist.

In this course, students will select and finalise research topic with their advisors for the submission of their graduate Thesis/Dissertation proposal. At the end of the course, the students must demonstrate a hypothesis, a theoretical background, frame work, a methodology for their research.  
SKD5079 Studies in Thesis/DissertationⅡ 3 6 Major Master/Doctor Korean Yes
In this course, students will prepare for their Thesis/Dissertation defense with their advisors. At the end of the course, the students must conduct research by critically analysing and interpreting the results and applying the subject areas to their fields. The research is conducted in accordance with the principles of research ethics.

The course aims to help understand artificial intelligence and deep learning as a cultural technology(CT) beyond simply understanding artificial intelligence as a new technology, including the definition and trend of artificial intelligence and the possibility of changes in the art field using artificial intelligence technology, and to practice it directly. In order to cultivate core technology-art convergence talent in the field of art, I would like to learn knowledge about artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning and actually utilize it in this class.

This class aims to analyze the rapidly growing field of Disability Arts from various perspectives in humanities and social contexts. It seeks to enhance understanding of disabled art through field training activities, such as live performances and exhibitions, and to cultivate creative practical skills for planning and implementing disabled art. Through this class, students will develop their ability to connect with diverse members of society through art and lay the groundwork for them to emerge as world-class artists. The significance of this class lies in its approach, not viewing disabled art merely as a welfare concept but fostering a new and creatively Interdisciplinary art that embraces the unique characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses of all members of society through hospitality and coexistence. Interdisciplinary Art is a term coined to describe a unique and creative art form that did not exist before in Korea. This class attempts to present a fresh approach by analyzing existing disabled art. To achieve this, students from various majors in art colleges will collaborate to enhance their ability to communicate and efficiently coordinate opinions with team members while leveraging their individual strengths.
